This brightly colored mid century modern motel sign still advertises for an abandoned motel in rural Nevada. I love to capture these technicolor icons of the 50's and 60's whenever I come across them in small rural towns. At one time, as the automobile industry hit it's stride and Americans were taking vacations by "Motor Car", these happy nostalgic signs were found everywhere along highways. They still carry happy memories for many, and their retro designs still hold strong in the modern world.

About the Photographer:

Growing up on her family’s ranch in Montana, she now calls Billings, Montana, home. Her work has graced television shows, books, and magazines like Better Homes & Gardens. While she loves exploring new places, her heart truly finds its peace in wide-open spaces and nature.
