"Motel Vacancy" - Retro Motel Sign Rustic Western Photography Print

Title: "Motel Vacancy"
I find these old Mid Century signs to be so charming. Typically this era of neon signage features bright candy colors and bold typography. This weathered sign advertises for a single-level motel in the heart of a small town near the Canadian border in Montana. I love the nostalgia of the automobile age, which reached its peak in the 1950's and 1960's. The term "motel" is a portmanteau term, merging the words motor and hotel, creating the term motel. This reminds me of those simpler days, when families piled into the family car, and hit the road, staying at these smaller motels along the way. To this day, these signs still retain their innocence and optimism.
